Detailed action plan prepared to project Uttar Pradesh as ‘Most Favourite Tourist Destination’

In a bid to position Uttar Pradesh as a ‘premier global tourist destination,’ Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath‘s government is set to showcase ‘Brand UP‘ and ‘Destination UP‘ at 12 major international trade fairs and travel expos.

According to Chief Minister Yogi’s vision, a detailed action plan has been prepared to project Uttar Pradesh as ‘Brand UP‘ and as the ‘Most Favourite Tourist Destination‘ nationally and internationally. The master plan focuses primarily on the significant role of international trade shows, travel fairs, and expos in achieving this objective.

“The extensive promotion strategy involves utilising various channels, including organising roadshows and widespread campaigns, with the overarching goal of elevating the state’s visibility on the global tourism stage,” the Chief Minister’s office said in a press release.

Among them, Japan, Israel, China, America, France, Singapore, Britain, Australia, Germany, Israel, Russia and the UAE are prominent. Simultaneously, a detailed plan has been devised to highlight Uttar Pradesh as a tourist hotspot during various events in approximately 50 cities across 28 countries, including India.

The Uttar Pradesh Tourism Department has initiated actions on these plans, with ongoing efforts to engage agencies for international brand building, marketing, publicity, and operations, with a focus on organising national and international roadshows.

“The international events that will be targeted through this process include ITB Asia (Singapore), IFTM Top Resa Paris (France), JATA Tokyo (Japan), WTM London (UK), USTOA, FITUR Madrid (Spain), AIME Melbourne ( Australia), IMTM Tel Aviv (Israel), MITT Moscow (Russia), ATM Dubai (UAE), and COTTM Beijing (China). The execution involves organising promotional and brand development campaigns at all selected international locations, along with coordination with Indian embassies to ensure the success of the initiative,” the press release added.

As per the action plan, international roadshows are scheduled for cities like London, Manchester, Birmingham, and Glasgow in Britain; Madrid, Bilbao, and Barcelona in Spain; Rome and Milan in Italy; and Berlin, Munich, and Frankfurt in Germany. Similarly, roadshows will be held and stalls set up at exhibitions to be held in Lisbon, Portugal, Oslo in Norway, Stockholm in Sweden, Paris in France, The Hague in the Netherlands and Helsinki in Finland.

‘Brand UP’ and Uttar Pradesh tourism will also receive extensive promotion in major American cities such as San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York, and Chicago. Additionally, international roadshows are planned for Buenos Aires (Argentina), Brasilia (Brazil), Shanghai and Beijing (China), and Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane (Australia).

In the Gulf countries, the outreach will cover Dubai (UAE), Muscat (Oman), Doha (Qatar), Kuwait City (Kuwait), Beirut (Lebanon), Moscow (Russia), and Tel Aviv (Israel).

South East Asian countries will witness promotional activities in Singapore, Bangkok (Thailand), Tokyo (Japan), Phnom Penh (Cambodia), Manila (Philippines), Hanoi (Vietnam), Jakarta (Indonesia), Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), Seoul (South Korea), Colombo (Sri Lanka), Thimphu (Bhutan), and Kathmandu (Nepal).

The work at these locations will be completed after receiving proposals from channel partners, media house owners, and owners of media outlets in all major airports, railway stations, bus stations, metro stations, and metro cities, the press release added.

Additionally, preparations have also begun to complete a comprehensive promotional and branding campaign across prime and non-prime time slots, TV and radio media houses, print, digital and other media sources in the country and abroad. A significant large-scale publicity and brand development campaign is also scheduled to be implemented through an agency at specific national locations, aligning with the directives provided by the Department of Tourism. No plan to make Covid testing mandatory at airports as of now, say health ministry sources, ET TravelWorld https://traveldaayri.com/nature-destinations-travel/no-plan-to-make-covid-testing-mandatory-at-airports-as-of-now-say-health-ministry-sources-et-travelworld/ Thu, 21 Dec 2023 12:56:10 +0000 https://traveldaayri.com/nature-destinations-travel/no-plan-to-make-covid-testing-mandatory-at-airports-as-of-now-say-health-ministry-sources-et-travelworld/ [ad_1]

Higher doses of steroids (dexamethasone) had less benefits to patients with severe Covid-19 in India, according to a study published on Monday in the journal The Lancet Regional Health – Southeast Asia.

There is no plan so far to make RT-PCR testing for COVID-19 mandatory at airports for travellers, Union health ministry sources said on Thursday, amid an uptick in coronavirus infections in India.

Even though the number of cases is rising and the JN.1 sub-variant has been detected in the country, there is no cause of immediate concern as 92 per cent of those infected are opting for home-based treatment, indicating mild illness, they said.

There is also no increase in hospitalisation rates and COVID-19 is an incidental finding in people hospitalised due to other medical conditions. In the last two weeks, 22 people have died due to COVID-19 in the country.

India on Thursday recorded 594 fresh COVID-19 infections while the number of active cases increased to 2,669 from 2,311 the previous day, according to Union health ministry data. The death toll has climbed to 5,33,327 with six more people — three from Kerala, two from Karnataka and one from Punjab — succumbing to the viral disease, the data updated at 8 am stated.

As many as 21 cases of the JN.1 variant had been detected across the country till Wednesday. NITI Aayog member (Health) Dr V K Paul on Wednesday said that the scientific community in India is closely investigating the new variant as he emphasised the need for states to ramp up testing and strengthen surveillance systems.

“There is no plan so far to make RT-PCR testing for COVID-19 mandatory at airports,” a source said.
In July, India had issued revised guidelines, dropping the requirement for RT-PCR based testing of a random 2 per cent of travellers entering India.

In view of the recent surge in COVID-19 cases and the detection of the first case of the JN.1 variant in the country, the Centre has urged states and union territories to maintain constant vigil.

Singapore issues advisory as Covid cases, hospitalisations rise ahead of year-end

The Singapore government said is crucial for the public to exercise precaution and take personal and social responsibility. Practicing good personal hygiene, staying at home when unwell, wearing masks in crowded and poorly ventilated places, and following travel precautions are some of the key measures it suggested individuals should take.

In a letter to states and union territories, Union Health Secretary Sudhansh Pant on Monday underlined the critical COVID-19 control and management strategies considering the upcoming festive season and advised them to put in place requisite public health measures to minimise the risk of increase in transmission of the disease. States have been urged to ensure effective compliance of the detailed operational guidelines for revised surveillance strategy for COVID-19 shared by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. They have asked to monitor and report district-wise cases of Influenza-like Illness (ILI) and Severe Acute Respiratory Illness (SARI) in all health facilities regularly for early detection of rising trend of cases.
It is not currently known whether the JN.1 infection produces symptoms different from other variants, the ministry had said.

In general, symptoms of COVID-19 tend to be similar across variants. There is also no indication of increased severity from JN.1

At this time, there is no evidence that JN.1 presents an increased risk to public health compared to other currently circulating variants, according to the ministry. The existing treatment line for COVID-19 is expected to be effective against JN.1 infection and updated vaccines are expected to increase protection against the variant, the ministry had said.
