The Uttar Pradesh Tourism Department has signed an agreement with the American firm M/s Anjali Investment LLC for the construction of a 100-room resort in Ayodhya.
State Tourism and Culture Minister Jaiveer Singh said after the consecration ceremony of Ram Lalla, Ayodhya is witnessing an unexpected increase in the number of devotees and tourists.
The state government is working to facilitate the visit of tourists, and to provide them lodging in the temple town, he said.
The owner of the American real estate company, Ramesh Nanguranuri, who is originally from Hyderabad but into real estate business in America, has signed an agreement with UP Tourism department to construct a resort in Ayodhya.
Ayodhya’s transformation extends beyond transportation infrastructure to the overall development of the city. In a recent visit, the Prime Minister inaugurated four newly redeveloped, widened, and beautified roads—Rampath, Bhaktipath, Dharampath, and Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Path—enhancing accessibility for pilgrims and tourists. Besides, the city has also got its International Airport along with Amrit Bharat Express and Ayodhya-Anand Vihar Terminal Vande Bharat Express.
He said land has also been identified for establishing the resort, adding that the investment policy of the tourism department is favourable for investors.Singh said constant efforts are being made to achieve this feat with the increased flow of foreign tourists too.
After the inauguration of Ram Temple, the state government is encouraging investment in hotels and resorts, so that the tourists coming in get better facilities, he said.
Tourism director Prakhar Mishra said the construction of hotels and resorts will improve the experience of tourists and devotees coming to visit Shri Ram Temple in Ayodhya.

Airbnb has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board (UTDB), to build host capacity in untapped destinations, thereby redirecting travellers from the state’s traditionally popular spots to lesser-explored places.
This collaboration reflects a shared commitment to preserving the state’s cultural heritage, natural beauty, and unique traditions, while promoting responsible and conscious travel practices in the state, which further uplifts the local communities.
As a part of MoU, Airbnb will undertake capacity building activities in the select pilot locations to enhance local hospitality standards, hosting best practices, and responsible hosting. Workshops will be organised for a select group of ‘model hosts,’ who will then impart their knowledge and expertise to other members of their community.
The partnership will also focus on onboarding homestays onto the Airbnb platform. Airbnb will conduct workshops in the identified pilot destinations to train ‘model hosts’ on setting up their profiles, optimizing listing content, and capturing attractive photographs to attract travellers.
Airbnb will conduct a thorough review of homestay-specific gaps in the identified pilot destinations and share its assessment with UTDB. This valuable input will help UTDB formulate a targeted support strategy for homestays, thus fostering inclusive growth within the region.
As a part of this model, the Ekadasha Teertha Campaign will be rolled out in the 11 places of worship in Goa. Ekadasha Teertha will include the spiritual sites to be decided by the Department of Tourism. The Minister said that the campaign will be put to fruition in consultation with the local communities and involving particularly women and youth.
Notably, Airbnb will also work with the identified district tourism officers appointed as points of contact (PoCs) for seamless coordination, offering venue support for workshops and events, a list of registered homestays in pilot locations, shortlist and mobilise ‘model hosts’.“Uttarakhand is known for its warm hospitality and its rich tapestry of pristine trekking trails, diverse wildlife, serene hill stations, pilgrimage sites, and more. A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Samagra Shiksha Uttarakhand and Swiss Education Group, Switzerland at the Secretariat on Thursday in the presence of Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami with the objective to provide better training in the field of tourism and hospitality.
State Project Director, Samagra Shiksha Banshidhar Tiwari and Executive Director of Swiss Education Group Hiraj Artinian signed the MoU to provide training in the field of tourism and hospitality to the students of classes 9th to 12th in Uttarakhand. Swiss Education Group will also assist in improving the vocational education curriculum for students in the state.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said, “This agreement will prove to be a milestone in the future for better training in the field of tourism and hospitality under vocational education to the children of class 9 to 12 in the state.”
He said that there is a lot of employment potential in both these sectors in Uttarakhand.
“By gaining proficiency through training in these areas, our students will get many employment opportunities. Continuous efforts are being made by the state government to promote tourism. Many works are being done to promote religious, spiritual and adventure tourism as well as eco-tourism and wellness,” CM Dhami said.
CM Dhami further added that the state was also receiving many proposals in the field of hospitality. “There are many possibilities in this sector in the state in the coming times,” he said.
While domestic tourist arrivals have reached about 8,816,153, and foreign tourist arrivals stand at 278,155, Punjab Tourism is preparing to join the tourism race. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed gratitude to Abhay Das Maharaj for playing an important role in this agreement with Switzerland in the field of tourism and hospitality in the state. About 4 months ago, there was a discussion between the Chief Minister and Abhay Das Maharaj to provide support to the state in these areas.The Chief Minister said that lakhs of devotees come to Devbhoomi Uttarakhand during the Chardham Yatra in Uttarakhand.
“The effort of the state government is to ensure that devotees and tourists come to the religious and tourist places of Uttarakhand in large numbers within 12 months. For this, work is being done at a rapid pace on the Manaskhand Temple Mala Mission. Under this, work has been started by identifying 16 temples in the first phase,” he added.
